ObesityGlobal is deepening its Nordic collaboration to transform the understanding of obesity—from an individual lifestyle issue to a chronic disease that requires evidence-based and person-centered care. Through the Nordic Collaboration, stakeholders from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland come together to create a shared platform where patients, researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers collaborate to break stigma, promote patient involvement, and develop sustainable care models.

At the heart of this initiative stands the Nordic Alliance, a Nordic network founded in 2020 to strengthen cross-border collaboration on obesity issues. ObesityGlobal actively supports the Nordic Alliance, contributing to deepening cooperation between national actors and ensuring that care, research, and policy development are based on shared principles and the patient's perspective.

Together, we work to improve care, influence policy decisions, and elevate the patient's voice in research and development. Nordic Collaboration and Nordic Alliance are concrete steps towards stronger and more inclusive care for people living with obesity—throughout the Nordic region.
